ReassignManager
Preserve accountability chains when managers leave the organization.
Reassigns a user's manager when the current manager leaves or is disabled, preserving approval chains and preventing orphaned relationships.
Overview
When a user quits the organization and becomes inactive, direct reports may need to be reassigned automatically to a new manager. Typically, employees receive a new manager automatically from HR, so the next synchronization is enough. However, for contractors and other user types, no automated process exists — this component fills the gap.
The logic supports three different methods of reassignment: to the N+2 (the manager's own manager), to the new manager of the same department when a replacement already exists, or to a statically defined default person per user type.
In all cases, the component sends a notification email so the new manager is aware of the change, ideally containing a link to reassign another manager if the default is not appropriate.
Features
Automatic manager reassignment with three configurable methods (N+2, department replacement, static default). Per-user-type scope configuration. Notification emails to new managers with optional workflow links. Global Configuration Values for full customization.
