Normalization
Ensure consistent, reliable user data across your identity environment.
Normalizes data between LDAP objects when values are created or updated, improving consistency and reducing downstream mapping and edge cases.
Overview
Normalization enhances the accuracy and integrity of directory data by linking user attributes to centralized reference objects. Instead of storing department IDs or other static values directly in user records, this add-on automatically replaces them with directory references (DNs) to corresponding master-data objects.
This approach creates a unified, easily maintainable data model within OpenText IAM environments. When master data changes, updates cascade automatically to every related user object. The result is cleaner, more reliable information across the entire identity system, reducing redundancy and administrative overhead.
Normalization is a foundational component in robust Mir.IAM deployments and works seamlessly with complementary add-ons like Denormalization and Group Management to ensure complete data consistency and streamlined provisioning.
Features
Automatically maps user attributes to authoritative reference objects in the directory. Maintains dynamic links between user data and master records. Supports integration with other Mir.IAM drivers to propagate updates, simplify synchronization, and enable consistent identity modeling across systems.
Benefits
Ensures accurate, up-to-date identity data across all connected systems
Reduces manual maintenance by automating data synchronization
Simplifies downstream provisioning to Active Directory and other targets
Enhances data integrity for compliance and reporting
Enables richer, relationship-based data models in IAM
Provides a strong foundation for automated group and role management
